Sexuality connect is a Small Scale partnership coordinated by Kehsia, our partner in Luxemburg together with Euducate and Donnexstrada from Italy.
Sexuality Connect is an Erasmus+ European project aimed at improving the quality of youth work by training youth workers in comprehensive sexual education and sexual digital literacy. The project responds to an urgent need in Europe: the lack of structured sexual education, the spread of misinformation online, and the increasing exposure of young people to potentially harmful digital content.
Through transnational collaboration between Luxembourg, Italy, and Spain, the project seeks to create accessible, inclusive, and evidence-based tools that enable young people to receive reliable information adapted to their needs and communicated in a youth-friendly way.
Project Objectives
1. Train youth workers in comprehensive sexual education
The project provides youth workers with the knowledge and skills needed to design and deliver sexual education programs based on scientific evidence, age-appropriate language, and inclusive approaches.
2. Develop “sexual digital literacy”
Youth workers will learn to understand and teach the risks and opportunities of the digital environment: pornography, sexting, grooming, consent, digital privacy, and identifying reliable sources online.
3. Create an open digital repository
A multilingual digital platform will be developed with materials, tools, resources, and best practices accessible to both youth workers and young people aged 12–18.
4. Ensure inclusion of vulnerable groups
Special attention is given to young people with fewer opportunities, minorities, and rural communities with reduced access to reliable information.
Main Activities
Specialized training in Italy
Youth workers from Spain and Luxembourg will participate in a blended training (online + face-to-face) divided into two modules:
- Comprehensive sexual education
- Digital safety and online behaviour
The training includes expert-led sessions, real case studies, participatory methods, and interactive debates.
European co-design of the digital repository
Co-design workshops will take place in Spain to collaboratively create:
- The structure of the digital repository
- Educational content
- Multimedia resources
- A collection of best practices
These workshops will include youth workers, young people, and professionals in sexual education and digital literacy.
International mobility in Italy
Youth workers from all partner countries will meet in Italy to:
- Practice educational methodologies
- Explore participatory approaches
- Exchange cultural perspectives
- Co-create tools to apply in their local contexts
Field experimentation in Spain and Luxembourg
Youth workers will then implement what they have learned through real workshops with young people, assessing the impact of the methodologies and resources created.
Dissemination and communication
A European strategy will ensure that the project’s materials reach:
- Schools and educational centres
- Youth organisations
- NGOs
- Rural communities
- Families and local actors
Expected Results
- Better-trained youth workers capable of delivering inclusive sexual education adapted to digital-age challenges.
- Improved digital and critical-thinking skills among young people to help them navigate the online world safely.
- A European digital repository, free and accessible, containing validated educational materials.
- Greater community awareness around equality, sexual rights, consent, and online safety.
- Innovative methodologies for youth work in sexuality and digital environments.
- Long-term impact, thanks to the sustainability of the digital repository and its integration into local organisations.
KICK OFF MEETING!
On the 2nd of October, the Sexuality Connect project was officially launched, marking the beginning of an inspiring collaboration among partner organizations from across Europe. The kick-off meeting brought together all partners to introduce their institutions, share their perspectives, and establish a common understanding of the project’s goals and expected results. During the meeting, participants defined their specific roles, responsibilities, and timelines to ensure an efficient and well-coordinated implementation process. Discussions also focused on communication and dissemination strategies, as well as on the quality framework that will guide the partnership throughout the project’s duration. Sexuality Connect aims to promote inclusive and comprehensive sexual education by developing innovative educational tools, awareness-raising activities, and training opportunities for young people and educators. This initial meeting laid a solid foundation for fruitful cooperation and the achievement of meaningful and sustainable results.
